WANT TO GO ON A BATTLEFIELD TOUR?

We are pleased to announce that we are planning another Normandy Battlefield Tour that will take place in May of 2009. We will depart the U.S. on Friday May 15th and return on Sunday May 24th.  On this tour we will visit the locations of the 101st Airborne's  E/506 battles as well as the 501st and 502nd.

Other locations we visit are the 82nd Airborne's area of operations, Omaha and Utah Beach, both the U.S. and German Cemetary's.  On the way from Paris we will make a visit to the British area's of Pegasus Bridge and the Merville Battery.

We would also like to offer a Normandy Tour in mid March for Spring Break. If this tour interests you please let me know.

Another tour possibility that we are offering is one that will visit Holland and Bastogne for the 65th Anniversary of Market Garden. Tentatively this tour will depart the U.S. on Monday September 14th and return Wednesday September 23rd.

This web site is maintained by Mark Patterson. I am a serious collector and historian of the WW2 Paratrooper, both American and British. My main collecting focus is on the U.S. Airborne Divisions.

I have been interested in WW2 and primarily the Paratrooper since I was 10 years old and have been collecting militaria since then. I dedicate this site to all the "troopers" who gave up their todays so that we would have our tomorrows!

I put this site together as a sort of online museum, so that veterans, collectors, historians and anyone interested in the WW2 Paratrooper can come to it and hopefully enjoy the pictures and information contained herein.

You will find pictures of my collection and hopefully visitors will be adding to the gallery. There will also be pictures and information pertaining to the Normandy and Holland invasion as well as the "Battle of the Bulge".

If you have any comments or things to add please contact me.

I am always looking for more pieces of history to add to my personal collection. If you have anything Paratrooper related please contact me.

I am currently working on the design and manufacture of a stained glass window for the church in Angoville au Plein. It will of course be 101st related and will also cover the 501st PIR and have a Combat Medics/Paratrooper theme. Many thanks to Hubert Achten for his help on this project! It is a real honor for me to provide this window in honor of the 2 medics that worked in the church saving and comforting the wounded of both sides.
